TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of the Kurdish Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) Nasrin Abdullah underlined that the Kurdish forces who are fighting against the terrorists in Syria will not act upon the US demands.

“It is true that today the US supplies weapons to our forces but this doesn’t mean that we intend to act upon the US demands,” Abdullah said on Saturday.

“Our relations with the US are limited to fighting against the ISIL and both sides have emphasized this fact,” she added.

The YPJ is an all-female military organization. It includes Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, Circassians and foreign volunteers. It is the female equivalent of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) militia.

In relevant remarks in June, US Secretary of Defense James Mattis said that Washington will continue to provide weapons to Syrian Kurdish fighters after the battle to oust the ISIL militants from Raqqa is over.

Describing American reassurances to Turkey that the US will take back weapons given to the Syrian Kurds after the ISIL fight, Mattis said it depends on when or where the next mission is.

And he also sounded a cautionary tone when asked if all the weapons would be returned. “We’ll do what we can,” he told reporters traveling with him to Germany.

Several Turkey-Backed Militants Killed in Clashes with Kurdish Fighters in Northern Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- The militant groups, affiliated to the Turkish Army, lost several fighters and their military hardware sustained major damage in heavy fighting with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in al-Shahba and Afrin regions in Northern Aleppo.

The Ankara-backed militants launched artillery attacks on the villages of Mar’anaz and al-Bilouniyeh in Shara region from their positions East of the town of Azaz.

The YPG forces opened retaliatory fire at the positions of the Turkey-back militants that caused heavy fighting between them.

According to dispatches, three Ankara-backed militants were killed and four others were injured in the clashes.

Field sources said that artillery units of the Turkish Army and its affiliated militants shelled the villages and towns of Tal Rifat, Sheikh Issa, Qarnateh, Haliseh, Hiseh, Qol Sarouj, Tal Jihan, Jal Madhiq, Tal al-Anab, al-Nayereh and Ein Daqneh in al-Shabba.

The sources added that the predominately Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces opened heavy artillery and mortar fire at the Ankara-backed militants’ defense lines in the village of Tawis and the town of Mare’a in response to their artillery attacks, inflicting major losses on the Turkey-backed militants.

Media reports said on Friday that the Turkish army strengthened its military presence near Afrin region in Aleppo province.

According to Hawar news, the Turkish army increased the number of its military forces at borders between Afrin and Bakur region in Kurdistan in the villages of Ali Karo and Beykeh in Balbaleh region.
The Turkish army also set up two watchtowers between the villages of Ali Karo and Beykeh and gathered its forces in the region.

It also established three bases between Beykeh and the village of Jorjio in Bakur, equipping them with heavy cannons and ammunition.
